Why meditate?

Why meditate?

  • Better cope with stress

    Better cope with stress

People who meditate find that they are less reactive and are able to cope with stressful situations more calmly, and let go of things more easily.

Results from a 2012 NCCIH-funded study suggested that meditation can affect the amygdala (an area of the brain that controls fight or flight responses). It was found that the amygdala was positively affected even when the person wasn’t meditating. In every day scenarios it meant that people were less reactive to stressful situations. Read more here.

  • Improve mood and wellbeing

    Improve mood and wellbeing

Regular meditation has been found to be good for regulating your mood. People find that they feel more stable on average and less susceptible to low moods.

A 2014 literature review of 47 trials involving 3,515 participants concluded that meditation programmes showed moderate evidence of improving anxiety and depression. (Read more here.

A 2012 meta analysis of 36 randomised controlled trials testing meditation,  found that 25 of the trials reported reduced anxiety symptoms, compared to control groups.  Read more here.

  • Support for health conditions

    Support for health conditions

Meditation has been found to be an improving factor for many health conditions.

It is thought that it is the meditator’s ability to better deal with stress that is why many people feel it also helps with their physical conditions.

A 2009 NCCIH-funded trial involving 298 university students concluded that meditation lowered blood pressure of people who were at increased risk of developing high blood pressure. Read more here.

  • Become more intuitive

    Become more intuitive

So many times our angels and guides are trying to communicate with us, but they can’t get through because our phone line is constantly engaged!

Regular meditation has been found to be a fantastic way to keep in touch with your guides and higher self, and better receive guidance.

It is also a wonderful way to train your mind in preparation for developing your intuitive skills.
