Do you who want to learn meditation but have struggled to establish a regular practice?
You're not bad at meditation. You just haven't been taught how to meditate.
This five week course will give you the practical tools, knowledge and confidence to develop a meditation practice that works for you, without needing to empty your mind, sit perfectly still or become a different person.
What makes this different from a meditation class?
A weekly meditation class gives you an opportunity to meditate.
This course teaches you how to meditate.
We'll practise meditation techniques together, but we'll also spend time understanding why we're doing what we're doing, experimenting with different techniques and working out how you can create a practice that fits into your own life.
The aim is that you leave the course not dependent on a teacher or an app, but confident enough to meditate by yourself.
Meditation isn't about having an empty mind
One of the biggest misconceptions about meditation is that you're supposed to stop thinking.
You're not! Your mind will wander. You'll get distracted. You'll remember something you forgot to do. You'll wonder what you're having for lunch.
That's normal.
Meditation is about learning how to notice what's happening in your mind, and gently returning your attention.
Meditate in a way that works for you
Everyone is different, and our minds all work differently. What works for one person may not work for you.
You don't need to be calm, spiritual or experienced.
You don't need to be able to sit cross-legged.
You don't need to have an empty mind.
You just need to be curious.
A welcoming space to learn
Meditation can sometimes feel intimidating and mysterious!
There's a lot of language around meditation that can make you feel as though you need to be spiritual, calm or experienced before you even begin.
You don't :)
Little Spoon Yoga is about creating an inclusive, relaxed space where you can explore yoga and meditation without judgement or expectations.
Meet your instructor
Hi, I’m Klaus (he/they). I’m a meditation and yoga teacher based in Worthing, UK.
I’m a proud queer person and I aim to create a welcoming space for everyone. I believe in using meditation and yoga to empower people and communities, and create safe spaces where we can learn from each other and thrive.
I trained in meditation and yoga at a traditional yoga school in Bali, Indonesia. My inspiring teachers; Gurus from ashrams in India and Indonesia; taught us philosophy, traditional Hatha and Astanga yoga techniques such as asanas, meditation and breath work.
I also hold a certification in Meditation from Gateway, London.
